Hi,
We are using microsoft fabric for our enterprise data to devlop power bi reports.
Our data architecture is below:
We have sql server as our data base, then Data flows that connects to the server from which we fetch data for our reports.
Recently we started to receive too lot of alerts from 'Azure: Activated Severity: 2 PowerBI Autoscaling Threshold' stating we have reached threshold of 100 capacity.
When we look at our grouppower bi we found that mostly dataflows takes up too much capacity as shown below:
So I thought i can ask few questions from my power bi community.
my questions are:
1) Can we have two capacity for power bi? One for dataflow and one for semantic model and reports
2) Can reports and model use dataflow from different workspace and from different capacity?
3) Can that different capacity be of different license i.e can my dataflow capcity be power bi premium and can capacity for data model and report be used as a embed for unify
4) Can we connect from one capacity from data model to another capacity that contains data flow.
Also, I have drawn a picture of same above questions for your better understanding:
Thanks in advance!
@sivarajan21 , First step should be to check Dataflow Gen2.
1. In case on-premise gateway is not needed consider the Data pipeline
2. Take a look at all the transformation steps and see if some step is taking too much memory when it is processed in preview.
3. You can use a higher capacity
Hi @amitchandak
We have optimized data transformation steps.
Also, we need the data gateway for our model.
Is it possible to have two capacity in power bi premium microsoft fabric ? any solution for above questions?
Please suggest
Thanks in advance!
