Hi all,
I would like to find a way to simply build a waterfall to report pillars for each fiscal year and breakdown by main impacting clients year over year. Using the following metrics:
it comes pretty well:
However (belive me..) client names are not those more impacting but likely the first coming in alphabetical order (their names are all starting for 'A' or 'B'). This may be due to the fact that we have averagely 1,000 active clients each fiscal year and the system likely cannot pick the most impacting in terms of sales variance.
Any clue on how I can address the problem?
Thanks,
C.

Hi @PBI_hlpr1 ,
Maybe you can modify 'sort by column' property to use other column as the sort order:
Sort one column by another column in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
However, in another document, it is mentioned that the waterfall chart does not support customized sorting for the time being. If the method in the above document cannot be tested and take effect, then this feature is not supported for the time being:
Change how a chart is sorted in a report - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi @v-junyant-msft , I am afraid your' right and what I want to do it is not possible. I cannot use the "sort by column" proprty as the field I need to sort on (amount) it is not in the same table.
However I have switch to Simple Waterfall custom visual and it seems to work.
Thanks!
C.
