Template files using parameters from a query

I am working on a PBI template which will have multiple parameters. In my testing, all but one of them works: the one where the Suggested Values come from a query. It functions fine when I'm in the PBIX, but when I save to a PBIT and try to open it, I receive the warning "Could not get the option list" next to the parameter. I assume this is because it hasn't had a chance to run the query. To get around this I copied the options from the query and pasted them into the Suggested Values > List of values, which kind of works as this list isn't updated frequently, but I would still prefer to use the query.

Is there any way to force the PBIT to load the query that's used for the parameter before anything else runs? I am not seeing a setting and can't find anyone with this particular issue, but I'm new to templates so might be missing something. Thanks.

As you mention this is likely a timing issue. What you would need is a multistep process where the template asks for some credentials, runs a couple queries, and then asks for more credentials based on the choices the user made in the first step.

My understanding is that currently templates do not support multi step processes. If this is important to you please consider voting for an existing idea or raising a new one at https://ideas.powerbi.com

Thanks @lbendlin, that is what I figured but thought I'd ask just in case. I don't think this is important enough for our company that I'd submit an idea, but I'll keep it in mind.
