Sorting in Aster visual

Hi all,

I found the Aster visual which looks great. However I have the issue that the Aster currently sorts my values from largest to lowest, while I would like to keep the order of the data.

I have not been able how to set this up, as this visual does not have the top-right context menu "Sort by..." as is mentioned in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-sort-by-column#sort-using-the-sort-by-column-butto....

So, I do have:

ASPECT, VALUE

Aspect A1 = 10

Aspect A2 = 20

Aspect A3 = 10

Aspect B = 30

Aspect C = 5

And the Aster shows them in order large- small, so: Aspect B, Aspect A2, Aspect A1, Aspect A3, Aspect C.

I would like to maintain the order as shown in the list (A1, A2, A3, B, C).

Anyone got any advice how to make this work (with a calculated column perhaps?)

I already tried to select the ASPECT as in Sort by Column, this doesn't work either 😞

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my test, you could refer to below steps:

Add index for your data in query editor:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45715963/creating-an-index-column-for-power-bi

1.PNG

Apply it and add the index in your Page level filters:

1.PNG

Choose the Aspect column and sort by index:

You could also download the pbix file to have a view.

That is great, Daniel He! Adding the index before inserting the aster visual seemed to already to the trick. Thanks!
