Setting a column or measure format to "Currency general" always shows $

I'm trying to build a PBIX file to be used by people in different countries.  So I set the column and measure formats to "Currency general", hoping/expecting that this would change to follow their windows control panel settings.  However it always shows $.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Any solution to this?

I have similar situation to build one dashboard for people in different countries. The currency symbol needs to follow the PC's regional setting. Thanks.

HI @mike_honey,

I think current currency general it only show the default currency instead of read the locale setting.(test to modify the system setting, language, power bi regional setting but all not works)

I will report this to power bi team later and share the feedback here.
