Row level security: all users can see high-level data, but details only for their own role

Hi,

I'm looking into implementing row level security based on a user's username. I currently have a working solution, but I would like to expand my report, so users can see all data on a high level, but can only see the details for a subset. For example, say the topic is sales, I would want all users to see the high-level sales numbers for each region, but only see the details for stores in their own region.

I'm currently thinking of solving this by making an aggregated table containing the high-level information, but I was wondering if there is an easier way to to this.

Thanks!

Hi @E__ ,

Based on your description, it is not a good way to judge the relationship between your tables, but it is a good choice to create a new aggregated table.

Liang

Hi Liang,

Thanks for that link, it's very helpful. I wasn't aware that the correct terms for this are visual and non-visual totals, which is why I didn't find any helpful resources online.
