Hi guys
Some of our Power bi reports refreshes are failing when we remove/delete fields within crm(Dynamics 365), even if those fields are not contained within the particular report which we have built. So for example if we are doing a report on the contact entity and i remove a field in CRM called "Field One" and that field is not in our actual report, but just sits in the entity which the report is connected to, then this causes a refresh fail. Is this just something we need to look out for , or is there a way to safeguard against this?
Hi @kelster,
Could you please share the screenshot of the error message to me? And do you mean you refresh the report in Power BI service or Power BI desktop?
Regards,
Frank
Thansk so much, to answer both questions, attached is a screen shot and we are using Power Bi Desktop and then publishing
Hi @kelster,
Please mask your personal info next time when you post picture here. And did you use the latest version of gateway? Could you please try to refresh the report in Power BI desktop and republish it to service?
Regards,
Frank
Hi Frank,
Thanks, will do so. So we did do that and it has worked to fix the error. However we are trying to determine if there is a more long term solution, we cant really have the dashbaords failing to refresh every time we amend the fields within the entity(especially as we are a start up in the early stage of building our solution). Just wondering if there is a safeguard against this, or if we will just have to refresh when changes are made
Regards,
Sean
