Ranking values in a column

Hi all,

I have a very simple table made of two columns:

- Failure modes

- number of occurences

I would like to have an additional column that ranks the number of occurences per failure mode in ascending order, giving the same number of equal values.

Any kind of advice is appreciated

Alessandra

Hi, @alevandenes

I am not sure if I understood your question correctly, but please try something like below.

The formula is for creating a new column.

Picture1.png

Occurence Rank CC =
RANKX('Table', 'Table'[number of occurences],,ASC)

Hi, very useful. it works just fine, thanks! can I ask you if you know whether this ranking is modifying with refreshing of the dataset?

@alevandenes ,you can create a new column rank

rankx(filter(Table, [Failure modes] = earlier( [Failure modes])),[number of occurences], ,asc, dense)

or

rankx(filter(Table, [Failure modes] = earlier( [Failure modes])),[number of occurences], ,asc, skip)

rankx(filter(Table, [Failure modes] = earlier( [Failure modes])),[number of occurences], ,desc, dense)
