Percentage change YTD SPLY calculation - ignore blank values

Hi,

I have a dataset where I would like to calculate the percentage change from 2019 to 2020 in "Resource use".
Annotation 2020-07-16 095607.png
Due to down-time, there is no "resource use" in Q2 2020, and there are therefore blank values for this period. When calculating the percentage change in "resource use" for 2020 compared to 2019, I want the this calculation to ignore the blank values in "resource use" in Q2 2020. Otherwise, the total percentage change (YTD) wrongfully includes a 100% change for Q2 2020.

I have attempted to omit the blank values in "%Resource use change SPLY v2", by the following calculation:

% Resource use change SPLY v2 = IF(

[Resource use]<>BLANK(),

[Resource use change LY]/[Resource use SPLY],

BLANK()

)

As seen in the attached screenshot however, the total percentage change is not affected by the above calculation.

In summary: How do I ignore the blank values in Q2 2020 in the calculation of percentage change from 2019 to 2020, so that a YTD (Q1+Q2) percentage change is not affected by what will wrongfully be calculated as a 100% change from 2019 to 2020?

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Try this measure, replace the name of the table:

NewMeasure =

SUMX(
    Table,
     ([Resource use change LY] / [Resource use SPLY]) * ([Resource use]<>BLANK())
)

@Anonymous , Try like

Change% = if(not(ISBLANK([Last Period %])),CALCULATE( (divide([This Period %],[Last Period %]) -1)*100))

For YTD & QTD refer my blog

Formula

YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD('Date'[Date],"12/31"))
Last YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year),"12/31"))
This year Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(ENDOFYEAR('Date'[Date]),"12/31"))
Last year Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(ENDOFYEAR(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year)),"12/31"))
Last to last YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-2,Year),"12/31"))
Year behind Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year))

QTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESQTD(('Date'[Date])))

Last QTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESQTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,QUARTER)))

Last complete QTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESQTD( ENDOFQUARTER(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,QUARTER))))
Last to last QTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESQTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-2,QUARTER)))
Next QTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESQTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],1,QUARTER)))
Last year same QTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESQTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year)))
Last year same QTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESQTD(ENDOFQUARTER(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year))))

To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :
