I have a SQL native query in my datasource in PBI Desktop which I filter by having a picklist of acceptable parameters which is then fed into the query refresh time.
This works fine in Desktop, but when I publish the report to the PBI Online service, the Parameter section in Semantic Model Settings just has a text box for the user to type a value for the parameter.
Is there something I need to do to tell the online service to only allow the user to choose from the list of values defined in the PBI Desktop report file?
Or is that just not supported at this time?

Hi @EvanYates ,
If I understand correctly, the issue is that parameter values list not reflected in Online service. Please try the following methods:
1.Go to the Manage Parameters option to check the settings. Ensure that the parameter in Power BI Desktop is set up correctly with a list of allowed values.
2.Can you provide a screenshot of how the parameter list is rendered in Power BI Service?
Anyway, you can use the following method as a workaround:
1.You can create a table in the data model that contains the list of acceptable parameter values and then use that table to populate the parameter dropdown list.
2.You can use a slicer instead of a parameter. Slicers allow users to select from a list of predefined values and slicers are supported in the Power BI Service.
Looking forward to your replay.
Best Regards,
