Hi,
Need a DAX function or a Custom Visual to Allow Users to Do a Multiple Word Search on a Large Field (the text field length varies from as short as one sentence to as long as a page). The user should be able to do a partial keyword search on as many keywords as they need to search on - if at least one of the keywords is found, the column should be selected and displayed in a visual.
Does anyone have success with this type of search?
Here is an example of what I need:
Here is a sample table, where "Text Description" column should be searched on based on any number of keywords, including wild card ones:
For example, if the user searches on two keywords: MARVEL, NICE - then the search should return four rows (row 1, 2 , 5, 6) because at least one keyword appears in the Text Description.
Text ID | Text Description |
1 | Goodness, yesterday was such a nice day |
2 | Today is both nice and sunny day |
3 | Today is a windy and cold day |
4 | Today is a wonderful and happy day |
5 | Today is a marvelous day |
6 | Today is a marvelously happy day |
7 | Today is a sad day |
Hi @E12345
Unfortunately, we don't have this option with a core visual, please vote for the idea:

According to customs, there is an Autocomplete filter by Bi-Champ that works, but it is for pay :
If you going to test it, note that for partly searching you need to switch on the option:

Thank you for the suggestion, but when I tried this visual, in only allowed me to enter one one keyword to search at a time. I need to be able to list several (like, synonyms) and for the visual to search for the text with any of those keywords.
So, for example, I need to enter "cold, freezing, tepid, icy, chilly, frozen" and I want to get text with any combination of those found (one or more, but at least one from the list).
Oh, I realized that from your screenshots you somehow were able to search for several keywords at a time. Does that mean you have a paid version and thats why you can search for several at a time and I cannot?
We don't have these options as a slicer, only as a Q and A.

As I mentioned you can suggest/vote ideas about the issue.

@E12345 , You have to use the Filter pane for that. In case You need more than 2 values, first select that many values basic filtering and then use advance filtering
I tested Text Filter, that will not help in this case
