Multiple tabs on one file...performance?

I've got one power BI file with approx 14 or 15 tabs.

If my terminology is correct each tab is a "report".  And they all work independent of the dataset?

I've noticed a reduction in performance of the reports lately.  Would I gain anything by "saving as", and instead having only 2 or 3 tabs per file?

When I publish I'd imagine they will still share the same dataset?  Or would it publish one dataset per file?

Thanks!

It publish one dataset per file but to avoid this, you can publish 1st file and then use "Dataset" of first published file as data source, most recent featur where PowerBI Service can be used as dataset.

here is more information on using PowerBI Service as dataset.

The number of tabs is not really significant.

What is more important is really 'How big is your dataset' and how complex is each report ? Your decision should be driven by this.

Cheers,

Dan

1 PBIX file = 1 report.

It's possible to have a report with 1 tab that is really slow.  It's also possible to have a report with lots of tabs that are all really fast.  The main downside of too many tabs is it's nice a good experience for the end user who may have to scroll back and forward to find the tab they need.
