Hi Power BI Gurus,
I created a MoM measure using the quick measure. seen as below. Ideally, I am looking for that users could select several GL peirods instead of showing all the months. However, when I tried to pick the values from the filter "GL-period", the visual is no longer working. The error messages shows as below " Time intelligence quick masure can only be grouped or filtered by the PowerBI provided data hierarchy or primary date column."
Any idea or advises? Please help. Thank you!!
Best Regards,
Flora

Remove the logical test for IF in the above formula or drag fields from Date Hierarchy to Slicers.

Hey @Anonymous ,
you have to develop your own MoM measure.
For this I recommend reading this article as it covers almost anything about time intelligence:

Hopefully, this gets you started.

Try to use a date calendar. This seems like a correct formula .Try like examples
MTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD('Date'[Date]))
last MTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,MONTH)))
last month Sales(trailing) = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,MONTH)))
last MTD (complete) Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD(ENDOFMONTH(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,MONTH))))
last year MTD (complete) Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD(ENDOFMONTH(dateadd('Date'[Date],-12,MONTH))))
last year MTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-12,MONTH)))
To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :
