Min/Max Line Chart

Hello,

I am stumped and turning to the experts! I am trying to benchmark different stores sales for items in a line chart visual. The goal is to have a line graph that with slicers I select the item and a particular store. The catch is I also want to have a line for the store that sold the maximum amount of items as well as the other store that sold the minimum. The thought is that the store selected can then see where they fall in the system. I also don't want the max and min stores identified, just have the line. Here is a mock up of data.

Here is the data table

DateStore #ItemSales Qty

Again the end result would be to have 3 lines on the chart. The Max, Min and store selected. Example would be for Apples, the max store would be #4 and the min would be #1.

Thank you in advance and if there are any questions, let me know.

Hi @danb,

Yes, If you select the item in the slicer, it is not possible to have other line in a visual that are not subject to the slicer selections.

Hi @danb,

From your description, I could not understand the sentence “The thought is that the store selected can then see where they fall in the system. I also don't want the max and min stores identified, just have the line.” Could you offer me more information about the logic of calculating max and min store?

@v-danhe-msft

Sorry for the confusion. Basically what I am trying to create is a line graph with 3 lines.

1. The store that sold the most (max)

2. The store that sold the least (min)

3. The store that is selected via the slicer.

Hi @danb,

From your description, the max and the min store in different time seem different, I am afraid you could not achieve this feature.

Daniel, just so that i understand your response, why wouldn't this work? Is it not possible to have a line or two in a visual that are not subject to the slicer selections or something else?

Thanks

Dan

Yes, If you select the item in the slicer, it is not possible to have other line in a visual that are not subject to the slicer selections.
