I built two tables in Excel and imported them into PowerBI as they were too large to simply copy/paste into a blank table due to the row limit. Now that they're loaded, I would like to remove the link to the Excel file and maintain the data in the local tables. Is this possible? I believe the equivalent in Excel is called "Break Link" and it essentially removes the live link while maintaining any data in the table. Is there an equivalent in PowerBI?
I searched and found a few workarounds (most of which would still fail at the step where I need to import tens of thousands of rows) but no real solutions.
No worries, PQ doesn't keep links even if you desire to.
Thanks to the great efforts by MS engineers to simplify syntax of DAX! Most beginners are SUCCESSFULLY MISLED to think that they could easily master DAX; but it turns out that the intricacy of the most frequently used RANKX() is still way beyond their comprehension! |
DAX is simple, but NOT EASY! |
I may not have been clear enough in my original post. I'm referring to the 'link' to the file itself which PowerBI maintains as every time I refresh it has to locate the table and refresh it as well. I'll edit my original post to clarify.
