When if you try it without TODAY()?

I see where I went wrong, my ALLSELECTED was too narrow. I think this will give you what you are looking for without having to iterate all of the selected dates.

CALCULATE ( MAX ( Dates[Date] ), ALLSELECTED ( Dates ) )

IF ( MAX ( Dates[Date] ) = maxdate, [Measure] )
