Importing .xls file from sharepoint to Power BI

Hi All,

I have created an automailer in SAP to get a report sent everyday at a scheduled time. Next I have used Power automate to get the attachement from Mail saved to a location in Sharepoint.

By default SAP exports are in .xls format.
When I try to imort this file to Power BI, i get the error " DataFormat.Error: External table is not in the expected format.
Details:
d11e1ccb-d68c-4623-96dc-23cc93b25b7e.XLS"

Can anyone help

@santoshreddyk95 , you need to open and check the excel if the data is coming in the correct format.

@amitchandak I am able to open the file and see the data. Although I get an error while opening saying that it is in the old format. So excel creates a new file with xlsx extension and saves it in the same folder.

But I want to avoid the manual work of opening the file everyday and saving it as xlsx.

regards,

Santosh
