IF filtering specific data sets by date

Hi all,

I'm trying to filter specific variables and wanting to define what data is shown in the graph by date. For example, dates before (today's date) should show a certain variable whilst dates after today's date should use a different data source.

Would anyone know how to go about this so that it appears in one visual e.g. bar chart?

Many thanks

Re: IF filtering specific data sets by date

Hi @jsmith14 ,

You may create a calendar table using DAX below, create relationships between the other data source tables on date field, then create column to determine which data source should be chosen.

Calculated table: Calendar=CALENDARAUTO()

Column: shown date= IF(Calendar[Date]<TODAY(),Table1[Date],Table2[Date])

Best Regards,

Amy

Re: IF filtering specific data sets by date

@jsmith14 this is all possible,

-you need common date table to have relationship with your two data tables

-in measure you create the logic when to show data from table A and when from table B

so if you provide sample data , it will help to get you the solution but geneal idea is listed above.
