How to avoid re-appending all previous data when appending a new file

Hi,

I currently have a daily Powerbi.pbix file that gets updated daily by appending a new single file to the main dataset.  Once we append the file I "close and apply" and then the entire database gets re-applied, rather than just the one single file.  This method is causing the update process to take over 60 mins due to the total amount of appended files being re-applied.

Question: Is there a method to have Powerbi Desktop only append the newest file and avoid having the all of the previous appended files updated?

If not, is there an alternative method to update an exsisting dataset with new data daily without having to reapply the entire dataset?

Example of appending the 08152019 file, but having the entire database re-append each file.

Depends if you have a Premium capacity or not.

You have one -> Do this

You have none -> You can do this

You don't have any other option unfortunatly

If this post was helpful may I ask you to mark it as solution and give it some kudos?

Have a nice day!
