Hello Experts,
I am unable to get the values for Previous month even after using the function. I even tried the function over ALL(dataset), still the desired result is not obtained.
Kindly help.

Thanks to the great efforts by MS engineers to simplify syntax of DAX! Most beginners are SUCCESSFULLY MISLED to think that they could easily master DAX; but it turns out that the intricacy of the most frequently used RANKX() is still way beyond their comprehension! |

Below two measure work fine , please try:
Last Months Sales 1 = CALCULATE([Total Sales],PREVIOUSMONTH('SalesByDate'[Date].[Date]))
Last Months Sales 2 = CALCULATE([Total Sales],PARALLELPERIOD('SalesByDate'[Date].[Date],-1,MONTH ))
