Hi all,
I am trying to connected to a HANA DB via Import and trying to access the parent child hierarchies that I have created in the calculation views.
However, the hierarchy seems not to be recognized in any way. Are there any prerequesites that must be fullfilled in order for the hierarchy to show up?
I do understand that this is not possible in the direct query mode. However, the documentation I found in multiple outlets says that using import this should work...
I appreciate any help or indication where to find a guide on the implementation.
Thanks a lot!
Lucas
@LucasK , Please refer to the limitations - Hana direct query -https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-directquery-sap-hana
You can create hierarchy in power bi

Thanks @amitchandak. Unfortunately this does not answer my question.
As stated above, I am not connected through Direct Query.
However, information on the HANA Connector states that Hierarchies from HANA are supported (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3se-VEDvqU at 1:18). Can anybody validate this? What are the prerequesites and limitations for importing hierarchies?
Thanks!

If I have solved your issue, pls mark my reply as answered!
Thanks @v-kelly-msft . The Blog also refers to direct connections between HANA and PBI.
Any chance you are aware of a similar post that shows how (parent-child) hierarchies can be imported using the import mode?
Thanks,
Lucas
Hi @LucasK ,
After seaching the documents,it seems that you need to refresh the data when first connect with HANA.
