Hello,
I am trying to create a visual in Power BI. I suspect I need to use a Matrix but will happily be corrected.
I have a table with historical cash amounts, a date and a type. Currently I have the Matrix set up to show type as a row, date as a column and the sum of the cash amounts in values. To keep things simple I'll say I have three types - income, expenses and savings. Within the Matrix I'd like to perform a calculation against these first two types and show the result in the matrix.
Income 100
Expenses 50
Profit 50
Savings 10 (unrelated to the other two types)
To be clear, I want the 'profit' element to be calculated and shown above the 'savings' line in the Matrix. In my scenario I'll probably be adding more than two types together but keeping it simple here.

You may try Pivot Column, Custom Column and Unpivot Columns in Query Editor.
