Hello,
I have just started with Power BI and have an issue when trying to get data from an Access database.
Only a few of the tables and queries contained in the Access database, are actually being loaded into Power BI Desktop.
Has anyone else had this issue, or know how to resolve it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi @Rob6391,
I test the scenario as yours, when I connect to my access database from Power BI Desktop, all tables are loaded into Power BI Desktop.
In your scenario, do all the tables of access database appear in Power BI Desktop Navigator? If not, I suspect that you don’t have sufficient permissions on some tables of the database, please check if there are some issues with your permission. Also try to connect to Access database from other tools such as Excel and check if all the tables are imported into the tool.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Hi Lydia,
Thank you for your reply.
Only a few of the tables were visible in Power BI Desktop Navigator. When I try to load them in Excel, I get the same result.
I have also tried with Administrator rights, but still get the same result.
For now, so that I can move on and use Power BI, I have exported the data that I need from Access into Excel, and then imported it into Power BI. This works very well.
Hi @Rob6391,
Would you mind sharing me the Access database file? I will test it in my Desktop. Based on your test, some tables in Access are invisible in other tools, I would recommend you post the question in the Access forum to check if there are any restrictions or limitations on these tables.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
