Flip Column Hierarchy in Matrix Visualization

I'm hoping to use the Matrix visualization for a reporting request, but I now think it won't work for what I need. I'm wondering if it is possible to "flip" the column hierarchy so that that like measures are grouped together within the broader column categories.

I have a source dataset that looks like this:

Age Range	Date	Transactions	Units	Dollars
20-29	2020-08-01	43	48	$1,245
30-39	2020-08-01	1,239	1,511	$3,677
40-49	2020-08-01	158	180	$450
etc	etc	etc	etc	etc

The default matrix gives me this:

Age Range			20-29			30-39			40-49
Date	Transactions	Units	Dollars	Transactions	Units	Dollars	Transactions	Units	Dollars
2020-08-01	43	48	$1,245	1,239	1,511	$3,677	158	180	$50

What I need is this:

			Transactions			Units			Dollars
Age Range	20-29	30-39	40-49	20-29	30-39	40-49	20-29	30-39	40-49
2020-08-01	43	1,239	158	48	1,511	180	$1,245	$3,677	$50

Thought I'd see if I'm missing anything. I'm using Direct Query, so I can envision a way to do this but would involve a lot of new measures and probably individual query calls to my source data. Hoping someone has a solution. Thanks!
