Seriously, why is it doing this!!! AAAggghghghg
I have currency data in a spreadsheet, none of which has more than two decimal places (obviously, why would it).
On import, I've used the transform tab to specify it as a "Fixed Decimal Number" and "rounded" to 2 decimal places.
Now, when it is presented in a table, it is randomly showing between 0 and 11 decimal places.
What gives? There doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of them -- it looks ridiculous...
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
I'm having the same problem.
I have an excel table with a column containing numbers from 0,30 to 8,00 with 0,01 increments (Created by adding 0,01 to the cell above). Like this:
0,3 0,31 0,32 0,33 0,34 0,35 0,36 0,37 0,38 0,39 0,4 0,41 0,42 0,43 0,44 0,45 0,46 0,47 0,48 0,49 0,5 0,51 0,52 0,53 0,54 0,55 0,56 0,57 0,58 0,59 0,6 0,61
When importing the table to PowerBI, it turns into this:
0,3 0,31 0,32 0,33 0,34 0,35 0,36 0,37 0,38 0,39 0,4 0,41 0,42 0,43 0,44 0,45 0,46 0,47 0,48 0,49 0,5 0,51 0,52 0,53 0,54 0,55000000000000004 0,56000000000000005 0,56999999999999995 0,57999999999999996 0,59 0,6 0,61 0,62 0,63 0,64 0,65 0,66 0,67 0,68 0,69000000000000006 0,70000000000000007 0,71000000000000008 0,72000000000000008 0,73000000000000009
I've even tried =ROUND() in the excel table without any luck.
Any suggestions?
Hi @dparkinson,
I have tested in Power BI Desktop April update version and can't reproduce the issue. In your scenairo, as suggested by @Sean, please check the Decimals Places setting in data tab, make sure the value is 2.
If issue persists, please tell us which version of desktop you are running. You can share sample .pbix file with us if possible.
Best regards,
Qiuyun Yu
