Enterprise gateway doesnt connect with DNS alias for SSAS

Hello,

I'm facing an error while creating a new SSAS data source with DNS alias. My Power BI enterprise gateway and the SSAS resides in the same server and I'm able to reach with the DNS alias name. Please see the error details below. Request for help.

Error Details

Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to "DNS alias name". Details: "We could not register this data source for all gateway instances within this cluster. Please find more details below about specific errors for each gateway instance."Hide details

Thank you. There is no solution for this issue in the link shared by you. All the steps has been done outlined in the link but didnt work. I did a little research on this and found a solution.

Solution: Create a new Multi-String value "BackConnectionHostNames" in registry(HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\MSV1_0) and add the alias host name under this. (This is only for NTLM Authentication. Please refer the link for the steps to be done for different Authentication) I have performed only Method 1 steps on SSAS server as outlined in the link and it works fine.
