Embed dashboard into website

Hi together,

I have a general question about embedding options in Power BI.

What we need is to embed a dashboard into web page and to have customer login area in order for customers to log in and see the dashboard. What are possible options for that?

Is Power BI Embedded the right choice for that? I'm asking, because for Power BI Embedded we need Active Directory and I was always thinking it is noit suitable for external, but only for internal access.

Could you please explain me if Power BI Embedded or maybe another Microsoft Service is the best choice to meet our requirements that external customers can log in to our webpage and see dashboard.

Thanks in advance!

Regards
Magomed Anasov.

Hi @Magomed

There are three ways of Embeded in Power BI, you could choose the most suitable for your scenario.

1.Publish to web

It seems that Publish to web is suitable for you. Howerever, when you use Publish to web, the report or visual you publish can be viewed by anyone on the Internet. There is no authentication used when viewing these reports so the security is not good.

You could set the log in in your web site.

2.RESTS APIs

Developers have the option to use the Power BI REST API’s to embed tiles or reports into their website or application. This option does require that the end user is signed into Power BI.

3.Power BI Embeded for customer

Embedding for your customers provides the ability to embed dashboards and reports to users who don't have an account for Power BI. Your customers don't need to know anything about Power BI. At least one Power BI Pro account is needed to create an embedded application.
