Dynamically choosing which field to use in measure like MAX, field parameter not working as expected

Hello. I am making a data profiling report for a client. It's very similar to what is available in the query editor under column profile. I have no problem getting the histogram with the value distribution but am stuck on how to show any of the quantitative measures. I thought it would be straightforward and that I can just put the parameter into a measure but none of the different ways I've tried have worked. I am including a mock data set and report. The report has a static page of what I'm trying to get to and another page with the things I've tried. Thanks ahead of time for any help. 🙂

Here's an image of the static mock-up.

@bmcminn , Have you tried field parameters and calculation groups

Calculation Groups- Measure Slicer, Measure Header Grouping, Measure to dimension conversion. Complex Table display : https://youtu.be/qMNv67P8Go0

I don't think any of these answer the questions I posed. None of them address using a field paremeter in a measure, or any other way to choose which fields go into a parameter. And my organization only wants to use OOB features w/ PBI due to security.

Any other ideas please?

I really feel like this should be something that can be done OOB.
