Dynamic date range selection

Hi,

I've a date slicer in my report that is of type before. Here is the requirement I'm struggling with:

If the date selected is 5/1/24 (1rst of may) then date range taken for all calculations should be 4/1/24-5/1/24(1rst of april to 1rst of may)

If the date selected is 5/2/24 or any date after then date range should be 5/1/24 to selected date.

How to achieve this.

I would like to apply this as visual filter.

use the below measure

End Date = MAX('Calendar'[Date])
Start Date =
var a = 'Calendar'[End Date]
var b = IF(DAY('Calendar'[End Date])=1,-2,-1)
var c = EOMONTH('Calendar'[End Date],b)+1
return c
I am getting the expected output
