Dynamic URL parameter in Power BI report with row level Security

Hi,

Can we pass dynamic url parameter in Power BI report? My requirement is, we have defined row level security with Manager-employee hierarchy. When employee logs in and if he is a manager then he can see his employees data and if he is an employee, he can see only his data.

But some of our users who needs to test this reports are not present in that Manager-employee hierarchy table. Is there any way they can access the report by passing parametrs dynamically in the power BI report url?

Hi @Rinku21 ,

If the report has enabled RLS, they can only view their related data based on RLS. Dynamic url parameter could not achieve this.

If anyone who is not in the RLS regulation wants to see the data of the report, he needs 'edit' permission to see all the data of the report, 'view' permission could not see any data.

To have 'edit' permission, just add him into the workspace as roles who are over 'viewers' role in power bi service if he is in your organization. If he is out of your organization, add him as a guest user first.

Thanks for your reply. Is there any other way to achieve the requirement?

I tried creating RLS but I am facing some issues while creating DAX. Below is the post where I mentied the issue:
