Divide a sum by number of 'Completed' items for each month for two given years.

Hi all,

I have a dataset containing a list of bus trips for year 2020 and 2021. Each month, I have to pay a sum of money for this bus service. For year 2020, the monthly sum is $6300 and for year 2021, it's $6000.

Each trip comes with the status - Completed, Cancelled or Scheduled.

I would like to seek help for an expression to calculate the monthly fee for each completed trip by taking the respective sum divided by the count of completed trips for each month for that given year.

Hi @AloisOh ,

If you want to sort by month, you can create a year and month column, as follows

Year-Month = FORMAT([Pick Up Time],"YYYY-MMM")

The count measure is like

Count = CALCULATE(COUNTROWS('Table'),FILTER(ALLEXCEPT('Table','Table'[Year-Month]),[Status]="Completed"))

Then you can use the sum to divide the count for each month.

@AloisOh , Try a measure like

Sumx(Table, if(year([Date]) = 2020, 6300,6000) * if([status] ="completed",1,0))

Changes values as per need, use switch in place of "If", if needed
