Date and Time Power BI Desktop and Service

Hi,

Have read several articles but its still not working.

Below are the tables I have:

- Calendar Table

-DimTime Table:

Sales Table:

in Power BI Desktop, Filter panel, I have taken the column Date from calendar table and set relative date as yesterday.

Report refresh is set at 12:30 AM. When the report refreshes say on 4th Sept, 12:30 AM, it should display data as of 3rd Sept. However, it is displaying data as of 2nd Sept on Power BI Service.

My timezone is GMT +4.

Kindly advise what can be done.

Hi @PowerDigitize_1 ,

There are a few possible reasons for the data discrepancy between Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. One reason is that the relative date filter is based on the UTC time zone while it is in Service, which is different from your local time zone (GMT +4). Another reason is that the refresh time of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service does not match and the underlying data source data is changing. A third reason is that the on-premises data gateway is not up to date or the mashup engine does not match the Power BI Desktop version. You can try to change the time zone in Power BI Desktop or use a custom column to convert the UTC time to your local time. You can also try to minimize the time window between the refresh in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. If you are using an on-premises data gateway, you may also need to check if it is up to date and if the mashup engine matches the Power BI Desktop version.
