I'm interested to know what Date Slicer people use for large volumes of dates that have to work down to day level, but dont take up too much space on their reports?
Previously I was using the 'timebrush' visual, however recently it has been altered and now has to have a minimum height of 127 (or 107 without a title) which means it is taking up far too much of my page. (Previously i was able to have it as height 80).
The Timeline slicer has so many subtitles / labels (Y, Q, M, W) above Day, that it takes up a huge amount of space.
The Hierarchy Slicers seems the best option, but it gives options for dates that are not there (i.e. it doesnt start at the min or end at the max dates, but rather gives options for the entire Year those dates fall in).
I'd love to have a Date Picker (I've voted for relevant ideas already), but until that is added I seem destined to lose a quater of my report page to Date slicers. Does anyone have a magic solution?
What about just using a visualization that supports drill down? In theory, you could use this as a "slicer" essentially depending upon your other visualizations.
Thanks for replying smoupre. I'm afraid that users have different date range needs such as YTD, MTD, current week, last week etc, so drill down doesnt always work.
Hi ZLJ,
I suspect you have already voted for the following idea:
Better Date Range filters
