Date Slicer default to today without creating calculated columns

Hi,

I have a connecting live data model in power bi desktop. And I have a slicer that can select all the dates.

Is there a way to set the default value for the date slicer to be today (or the latest date in the date field)?

I've checked several solutions, and all they required was creating new calculated columns. Since I have a live model, it's impossible for me to create new columns or new tables.

For example,  this solution created a new calculated column to store the slicer value, which I can't do with my data model.

Is there a way for me to have the same result without creating new columns or tables?

Please let me know if you need more details.

Thank you

@Mengmeng , As of now new column workaround is the solution.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. But I am still confused that you mentioned using a new column. I can't create new columns in my report, so I wonder if there's another way to have a similar result.

Thank you,

Mengmeng
