I'm using a date slicer that is set to "This - Weeks" where its pulling information for the most recent week as part of the count of records. However, I also have loaded historical records by prior weekly reports, which we do not want included in 'this week's' reports but rather for trend analysis visualizations. I've noticed that although 'this week' is selected, it does not automatically refresh the "this week" as a new week when I refresh the BI workbook weekly. I have to manually select the paint roller, then "Date Range" and then update the 'Anchor Date" field to add new Monday weekly report date when refreshing the data (for each tab). I could pull the date slicer into a new tab, and let it filter at the report level to ease that but once we publish the reports/visualizations to a dashboard, we'd like to leverage the auto schedule to refresh the data, and not have to manually update the weekly date filter to include the most recent's week data as part of a filtered data set. Does anyone know how to resolve this please?

@sgodfrey you shouldn't be using anchor date, it should be set to this week without anchor date.

Create a calculated column in your table using dax below, then create a slicer using this column and set its value to 1. If the DAX doesn't work as expected, please share sample data of your table so that I can test.
check this week = IF(WEEKNUM('Table'[Date])=WEEKNUM(TODAY())&&YEAR('Table'[Date])=YEAR(TODAY()),1,0)
