Counting employees by year of departure

I have a table of employees with two columns. Name and Year of departure. How would I create a measure that counted employees by year of departure

This should be as easy as creating a simple countrows measure
eg
Employees = COUNTROWS( <your table name here> )

Then drag the year of depature and this measure into a visual
