Comparing 2 tables of data to see who is available.

Hello!

I am trying to create a visual that will compare a Table " Manage Staff" to a Table " All Staff"

Manage Staff Tells me who is assigned to what job each week, All Staff is the name of all the staff.

I have the following filters on the page, Date, Shift, Site

Both Tables contain the employee ID,  Name, & Shift.

So I need to see who is NOT assigned or is available for assignment.

All Staff

That works but the Moment I add a Date Slicer it no longer works

please give more information about what you are trrying  to do with the date?  the quality of the solution given depends on the amount of detail provided.

If I took the time to answer your question and I came up with a solution, please mark my post as a solution and /or give kudos freely for the effort 🙂 Thank you!

The Data changes based on the Dates. I build the Schedules and need to see who is still availible or Not assigned in a class for a specific date. When I add the date Slicers in all the Visuals go blank.

For the week of 5/2, I should have a different list of avalible personel then on 4/28.

please provide more information, i cannot see what you are doing from your explanation, otherwise its down to guess work. I have no idea what you have implemented.

1. provide screenshots, provide a screehshot of your current model and the relationships. give an example of your expected result

2. provide screenshots of what its currently doing that you do not want it to do.

3. provide an example to test with so that one can properly test the solution.

please see above @vanessafvg

There several ways to achieve this  and this a very simple example

relate the two tables to each other by staff id and the create a measure (i created a count rows of the staff management table)

putting both staff id's on from bot tables on the same visual ie second visual at the bottom, and then be sure to show items with no data by selected it by clicking on the staff id from all staff, right click on the measure  where you place it in the visual (highlighted in pink).  with a bit of conditional formatting you can see who is not assigned to work from the all staff table.  there were a few examples that weren't in all staff but only in the second table.    there are other ways to achieve this just depends on how you want to display it.

see model attached and let me know if you have any questions.
