Hi there,
I have below tabular model SSAS relationship in data model :
ActionTable [ActionDate] with M:1 with CalenderDate[FullDate]
TicketTable[TicketReportDate] with M:1 with CalenderDate[FullDate]
CalenderTable
FullDate
ActionTable
ActionID
TicketID
ActionDate
TicketTable
TicketID
TicketReportDate
But when I try to add new relationship ActionTable[TicketID] M:1 with TicketTable[TicketID] it says there are ambigous path between 'ActionTable' and 'CalenderTable': 'ActionTable' --> 'CalenderTable' and 'ActionTable'->'TicketTable'->'CalenderTable'
please help?
This is in Visual Studio SSAS tabular project.
@kaushikmakadia , Please create a common ticket Table. As both are already joined with Calendar in 1-M and now consider as facts. If the ticket is both fact and dimension. Take one more copy of the ticket and use that as a dimension , do no join with date
Thanks Amit. Can you please more details wih mutiple solution step. Sorry jus wasnt clear in response, thats all. Cheers
@kaushikmakadia , As Both Ticket and Action, are Fact. If you need to join Ticket and Action then you need to have a common ticket table. That comes from distinct values from both table.
But If Ticket to Action is 1 -M, means the ticket is also dimension, as well as fact. Add Ticket again with a new(Ticket_dim) name and use it only to connect with Ticket and Action(1 - M)
Thank you so much Amit. Will check it out
