Aggregation on a column when customising a Visual

When I customise a visual (matrix in my case), and add a column to the matrix, the aggregation options seems to be different for different fields. For some columns added I can see SUM, AVERAGE etc. but some others just FIRST, LAST etc. 

What is causing the difference ?

Hi @Hoping 
The type of suggested aggregations is based on the data type of a column (like in pivot tables of Excel).
For numbers mathematical functions: sum, average, min, max, etc

For strings - count, distinct count, first / last etc

For Dates - dates functionality earliest, latest, etc
