I don't know were the authors of this powerpoint went to get this information but in PBI is not possible to increase/decrease the size of the doughnut hole, this is possible in Excel but not in PBI.

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsPerhaps not before, but presently, if you go to the formatting paint brush, select Slices then expand the Spacing selection, you can change the size of the hole by decreasing the inner radius percent:

This answer was back in 2017, at the time the visualizations customization was much lower then currently, now you can do this.
