weekstart column not appearing in order.

I have a DATE table and in the DATE table, I have a weekstart column which is showing me data as: APRIL 8, JAN 2 etc. When i  am using this weekstart column in my graphs, the weeks are showing like APRIL 8, JAN 8, MARCH 16 etc. I want them to appear as per the months. Like, first I want the JAN 2, JAN 9, JAN 16, JAN 23, JAN 30, FEB 6, FEB 13, FEB 20 etc. I clicked on sort by column and selected the weekstart column but still the weeks are noto appearing as i wanted.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous ,

According to your description, the reason why it is not sorted by date requirement is because the weekstart column type is a text type. It shows the sorting based on the text (each character is compared individually).

You can create this column using format (which looks like a date column but has a text data type) and then sort the Date column instead of this column.

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems like your WEEKSTART column is in text format and then PBI is not able to order it properly. You could try to convert it to DATE to start with. There are other ways to order a column, namely by creating an additional sorting column.

But let's start with the date conversion and if this doesn't help, I can support you in creating a sort by column.
