update Report directly

have created a dashboard, in Power BI Desktop, with a database and have published it in Power BI.

My problem is that the published report is not updateable, I always have to update the project in Power BI Desktop and then publish the existing report again. Is there no possibility to update the report directly with the current data from the database?

Hi @Edlaos

If your Database is held locally, "On Premises" not in the Cloud. You'll need a Power BI Gateway to allow automated refreshing.

See : On-premises data gateway - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Setting up a Data Gateway will allow Power BI to access the on premises data and schedule automated refreshes.

See : Data refresh in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Hope this helps

Stuart
