Sharing App Outside Organization

I'm trying to share a dashboard with a client outside my organizaiton. The client is able to log onto powerbi, however they keep getting errors when trying to view a report. Each visual has en error that says "This visual contains restircted data. See Details". I have granted the client access by adding their email to the "Access" section in the App Space. Is there anything else I need to do? Do I also need to be sharing dataset with them?

Thanks

Hi there

It would appear that your dataset has got Row Level Security Applied

You will have to possibly add them in the Security section of your dataset or if you are using Dynamic RLS to put the email address in there.

Thanks for your help. How do I go about doing this? I shared the dataset with the clients outside my organization - is that the same thing as changing Row-level security?

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

You would need to go into the datasets and then click on the dataset where your reports are coming from.

Then click on the ... and select Security

Then you should be able to see the Groups, now add your external user to this group.

You can have a look at this blog post with more details: http://radacad.com/dynamic-row-level-security-with-power-bi-made-simple
