Reports published in Power BI App are not loading

Hi,

over last few days are users reporting that reports published in Power BI App are not loading. When i tested the same App and report with multiple users with same permissions and same license, the issue occours randomly just for 1 from 15 testers. The App is assigned to premium capacity which does not register any issue in that time. I tested to clear cache and use multiple browsers without any success.
The only solution which works is to create copy of the report and republish it in the App. After that the report will start working. We are registering the same issue on 7 different Apps currently. Once users navigate to the associated workspace, then the report works as expected.

Have anyone the same issue..? Any suggestions..?

Thanks.

Hi,

all reports are connected to ASSAS Tabular models or on-premise SSAS Tabular models. Count of reports depends on the App in general between 3 and 20 reports. Reports located in the App are connected to one or two different tabular models. Users are able to access data through multiple reports in the same application, but once they open the buged report, then they see just logo of Power BI or just grey screen. Once they navigate to different report, they need to refresh the page to see the report content. Other reports connected to the same tabular model are working for the user without any issue. The same report is working for other users. Once the same user access the same report through workspaces everything is working as expected. Users have access to all datasates/Data Sources. The issue is related with the published Power BI App.

Thanks for your answer..!!

Best Regards, Richard.

Hi @richardsvoboda ,

This may be a known limitation. Here is the documentation.

Intro to datasets across workspaces - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

As an app publisher you have to make sure that your audience has access to datasets outside of the workspace. Otherwise, users will encounter issues when interacting with your app: reports won’t open without dataset access, and dashboard tiles will show as locked. Also, users won’t be able to open the app if the first item in its navigation is a report without access to the dataset.

Can you add more details to your question? For example.

1. How this app exactly consists of? How many reports, how many datasets, which dataset/s the reports are based on?

2. Whom is this app shared to?

3. Which are the shared datasets? Just one or two?

3. Who has access to the underlying datasets?
