Power BI dataset scale out question, client or gateway machine?

Hi,

Do I use the new feature https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/enterprise/service-premium-scale-out in client machine or gateway server?

It mentions installing DAX studio and SSMS so wanted to check.

It was my understanding that this was on the SQL server.... but, when I read the finer details I do not see something that says that specificalyly.
