Power BI browser performance

Hi!

Does anyone know if there is a "best" browser for the usage of Power BI? I'm looking at the metrics and there is a difference but it is not consistent between the different reports I'm running. Ideas?

Hi @ErikLiffner

While there isn't a single "best" browser that guarantees optimal performance for Power BI across all scenarios, Microsoft typically recommends using Microsoft Edge for the best experience with its services, including Power BI. Nevertheless, Power BI does support other modern web browsers such as Google ChromeMozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari.

Here are a few steps you can take to ensure you're getting the best performance in Power BI:

Update Your Browser: Make sure you are using the latest version of your preferred browser. Browser updates often include performance improvements that could enhance your Power BI experience.

Browser Comparison: If you're experiencing inconsistent performance, try accessing your Power BI reports on different supported browsers to see if the performance improves on one versus the others.

Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, browser performance can be affected by cached data and cookies. Clearing them might resolve issues related to performance.

Disable Extensions: Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with web applications. Try running Power BI in an incognito/private window or after disabling extensions to rule out any conflicts.

Check Network Speed: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and fast enough, as network issues can lead to performance inconsistencies.

Close Unused Tabs: Having many tabs open can consume significant system resources. Close any tabs you're not using to free up memory and processing power for Power BI.

Optimize Reports: The design of your Power BI reports can greatly affect performance. Consider simplifying complex visuals, reducing the number of visuals on a page, and optimizing your data model and DAX queries for better efficiency.

For windows both Edge & Chrome works great
Performance is also depend on network speed & other process running on system during loading, but rendering on Apple device are faster than windows
