Power BI Service and Data Format Requirement

I use Power BI Pro. I have a gateway connected with our SQL. I want to use Power BI Service to modify column format. Examples: decimals to percentages. I don't want to have to work in Desktop if the experience is such that I'm downloading the data from Service to change it and then the one in the Workspace is now a different version. Make sense?

You cannot currently modify the data model in the Service. Typically, you work in Desktop to create the model and reports and then publish that to the Service. The Desktop essentially becomes the master source for the data model and core reports. Because you can't edit the data model in the Service, they Desktop and Service cannot get out-of-sync with one another.
