Power BI Pro refresh failed

Dear All,

I have a power bi pro license. I made a report which is getting refreshed daily with the help of a scheduler. But from the past couple of times, it started giving me the following error.
"The report has failed to refresh.
Failure details: There's not enough memory to complete this operation. Please try again later when there may be more memory available."

This Power BI report is importing/connected with the Sharepoint list and I have a dataset of approx. 1.2 million rows.

Could you please help me understand the reason for this error?
Also, the amount of data is going to increase. So I am also for suggestions for data sources, connections, etc. What type of connection and data source I could use for the long run?

Thank you so much for your help.

BR
Diksha

Hi @diksha05 ,

The error message means you don't have enough memory. Please extend your memory as much as possible.

You can refer to these articles.

For another thing, if you upload the data in import model, please disable "Allow data preview to download in the background" from options / options and settings/data load. And check if it is useful.

Best Regards,
Liang

Well, I am using the Power BI Pro license (not Power BI Desktop) and the report is getting refreshed automatically. It is not my laptop or PC and The report is importing data directly from the SharePoint list. Will this still helps?
Also, could suggest me the best cost effective replacement of the data source as the amount we have is 1.2M and it will be more in coming days.

Thanks.

Hi @diksha05 ,

You mean that you are directly connected to a SharePoint data source in service.

It should be noted that this is also the import mode. To improve the performance of the report, you need to optimize the model in the desktop. Please refer to the link I provided before. BTW, if you don't need all the data, just some data for a specified date, you can use incremental refresh to speed up the refresh.
