PBI Service, how many data is going to the cloud?

Hi

I made pbix file in Power BI Desktop.

This file contains a table with source of data from our MAIN Analysis Services database.

I want to publish it in powe bi service.

How many data I will transfer into power bi cloud/server?

Only for this table, oraz for whole database souce?

I avoid loading Personally Identifiable Data in Power BI unless there's a very good reason to do so. You don't need to load the entire table, you should select only the columns needed to build your model and reports.

Second question.

I publish pbix table with selected column (without adress)

And then I establish stable connection thru Power BI Gatewy, with proper source (Analysis Services).

Doing this I have to enter login and password to the main database.

Then I plan refreshing my dataset

How much data goes to the cloud?

Only selected in table, or whole in the table in the database.

I know, that my report will show only my columns I choose.

Will adress go to the cloud and Microsoft will know it?

If you load the entire table as your initial source step then remove some columns in Power Query, then Microsoft may have some addresses briefly in memory as they process your query. If you never want these addresses to be in the cloud at all, then I recommend that you build a database view that doesn't include PII columns and use that view as your source for Power BI.

Power BI Desktop will publish data from only this table (and any other queries for which Load is enabled in Power Query).

So of I have in my pbix table "Salesman".

And this table shows me Salesman, and value of Sales.

And this table it is a query to database table, where besides name of Salesman, value of Salse this is also an adress of the Salesman..

All data - Name of Salseman, Value of Sales and an adress - I publish in cloud.

Im asking because of Security reason in my company.

They are afraid moving our important data into the cloud
