I've created several dataflows, multiple ingestion and transform steps, a part of an ETL chain.
This is a messy "staging" Workspace with lots of dataflows. I'd like to share the "final" steps of these, so I'm creating dataflows in another "publish" Workspace as linked entities.
My users have Viewer and Member access to the publish Workspace. They can see the dataflows, but when they expand, they can't see the tables--I assume because they don't have access to the underlying staging Workspace. Is this as intended? Do I have to grant users access to my messy staging Workspace so they can leverage the dataflows in the publish one? Thanks.
EDIT: I created "reference" queries and disabled Enabled Load for the source ones--essentially making a copy of the data in my publish Workspace. The copying only took a few minutes, which is tolerable, but the entities are fixed so if new fields come in from my "staging final" dataflows, I'll have to update them (would like to avoid that).

Hi @jeffshieldsdev ,
According to your description, you want users can access original dataflow contents from referenced dataflow?
If this is a case, I don't think they can directly access to original dataflow contents without corresponding workspace and contents permissions.

Hello @jeffshieldsdev! Although it's been a long time. Were you able to solve this problem? Here I found something, maybe it can help you... I have the same problem Cheers

This is disappointing. I have a "staging" workspace with over 100 dataflows I'd like to keep my users out of to prevent confusion...my "publish" workspace has 7 dataflows I'd like my users to use.
I'll just have to train my users to stay out of the "staging" workspace. Thanks.
